новозел. договор Ваитанги (договор, заключённый 6 февраля 1840 в посёлке Ваитанги {Waitangi} между представителями английского правительства и маорийскими вождями. По этому договору маорийские вожди «уступали Её Величеству королеве Англии полностью и без оговорок все права и полномочия суверенитета». Маори же гарантировалось право владения их землёй, лесами, рыбными угодьями и т.п.
